Today I was a bit down, because things did not work out how I had planned. I could have been in Australia by now! I had some misfortune with my visa, that I have not received. My flight was booked for yesterday which I missed, I must now wait for the visa before I can reschedule my flight. I then started to think that maybe things worked the way they did for a reason, “Stuff don’t just happen” (trying to be optimistic)
Today has been quite the stretch after looking at my emails 24/7 with still no activity! So, at the end of the day my father suggested that we go for a drive, I was a bit sceptical, but then gave in. We went to the Karel Landman Monument nearby our farm and I took my camera with, just like someone with a new toy, my new toy to capture something positive and just to take a moment and enjoy the scenery although it was a bit misty. It was better than sitting at home staring at the telly and looking for the email I’ve been waiting for all day. I quite enjoyed the “distraction”, thanks dad!!
The monument we visited is part of some history of South Africa with the “Voortrekkers” that passed through the area. At the sight of the monument on a clear day you can also see 7 different Districts from a distance, wow!
So, after taking in the ‘moment’ I have just realised again how everything happens for a reason and when something goes wrong don’t let it get you down, stay positive and do something else rather than just sitting there and being miserable about something out of your control.
So, take a moment, take a deep breath and change your reality.
